The Classic Racing Motorcycle Club starts the year of classic racing at one of the best circuits in the UK. Pembrey in south Wales is a long drive for many, but so worthwhile. An excellent mix of demanding corners, and best of all – no chicanes, rewards those who make the commitment.

CRMC Pembrey 6-7 April 2024, including the launch of Post Classic Era 3

Entries are coming in well for all the classes that the CRMC caters for, which is pretty well anything that has been raced up to 1995. Of course this includes Sidecars – they are always so popular with spectators, who enjoy watching the skill and bravery of the Driver and Passenger working together to get round as quickly as possible.

The Lansdowne series also joins us in South Wales and always produce a great grid full of genuine Manx’s and G50’s – the sound of the big singles reverberating off the valley sides surely must stir the heart of any classic enthusiast?

This will be the first meeting where the newly introduced ‘Post Classic Era 3’ bikes will be racing with us:- 4 cylinders up to 400cc and 4 cylinders up to 600cc (which embraces twins up to 750cc), so this will be an interesting mix of steel-framed Honda CBR600s vs the Ducati 748’s, of which there are several entered. There is also a PC Era 3 Superbike Class up to 750cc (which embraces twins up to 1000cc), so maybe we'll see iconic bikes like Honda RC30 battling with Ducati 916s?

One rider who is campaigning on a Ducati 748 is Welshman Alex Sinclair. He returns after a year away and he will be one to watch. But he is not alone, there are many riders who are more than capable of getting round very very quickly. The big question is going to be can one of the best handling bikes of the early nineties beat the superior power of the Honda’s?
Get your entry in for what will be another great weekend of racing – we look forward to seeing you there.
