Classic Racing Motorcycle Club

Racing motorcycles from a bygone era

The Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (also known as  CRMC) is dedicated to the preservation and use of   postwar racing and sports machines.   Close racing, full grids and friendly race paddocks  at the best racing circuits throughout the UK -  CRMC race weekends offer riders, officials and  spectators a memorable taste of racing from a  golden bygone era.

CRMC and the Joan Seeley Pain Relief Trust

At the 2012 AGM it was announced that the CRMC was adopting this charity and would be carrying out some fund raising activities from time to time. Colin Seeley is the designer and builder of the Seeley chassis which has become so popular with Classic racers that Seeley bikes are the most numerous make of classic bike registered with the CRMC. Colin Seeley was genuinely overwhelmed by the news that the fantastically generous CRMC members raised an incredible £727 for the Joan Seeley Charity at the CRMC Dinner Dance. We will be seeing Colin out on track parading a BMW sidecar at our Donington Park Classic Motorcycle Festival in August. Click here to go to the Joan Seeley Pain Relief Memorial Trust website

Donington Park Classic Motorcycle Festival - 8th,

9th and 10th August 2014

Building on the success of this event at Donington last year, 2014 did not disappoint with an even bigger display of exotic racing motorcycles and a busy race schedule. Every race was filled to maximum capacity crammed and the fast, sweeping Donington Park circuit produced some fantastic races for the many spectators. A deluge of rain late on Friday afternoon didn’t dampen spirits too much and set things up nicely for Saturday. Bathed in glorious sunshine on Saturday, racing got under way and many of the stunning machines in the Paddock Suite were wheeled out on to the track for the parades, where guest of honour Kevin Scwantz was once again re-united with his championship-winning Suzuki. In the evening, Donington organised a dinner where Kevin Scwantz entertained guests with his memories of his racing battles at Donington Park and there was some good banter between him and ‘Stavros’ (aka Steve Parrish) An unwelcome guest appearance by the tail-end of Hurricane Bertha on Sunday morning flooded the track and part of the paddock, forcing the on-track activities to be delayed until 2.00pm. A shortened program was organised to include some of the remaining races, including the prestigious Wheatcroft Trophy race. Some of the celebrity guests including Steve Parrish and Mick Grant ventured onto the damp track and showed their talents on expensive race bikes in difficult conditions. CRMC Chairman Mark George said “It has been a fantastic event and apart from the weather on Sunday morning, everyone has enjoyed themselves. I must say a big ‘thank you’ to the many CRMC people and Donington Park staff that made it happen, and of course to the riders, marshals, scrutineers and officials on the day - it has been hard work but worth it. I am already looking forward to doing it again next year!” For more pictures of machines on track, please go to the CRMC official photographer’s website, www.sport-pics.co.uk Race results and Championship results for Donington are available on the Results page
