We are very sorry to report that long-standing CRMC member Tony Tuttle died on Sunday morning, 9th June 2024.

RIP Tony Tuttle

Tony Tuttle was a distinctive chap around the CRMC paddock, despite his diminutive stature, easily recognised by his red leathers. Ever-helpful and a skilled engineer, he earned a reputation as one of the best tuners of the Honda parallel twin engine used in the 250 and 250, combining good reliability with power.

He tuned many of the engines we see in the CRMC paddock, including mine (Mark George), Charles Murdoch, Gary Freeman and many others. His dogged determination on track, combined with the power he squeezed from his engines made him a fast rider on track, winning many races and championships throughout his racing career. His last track success was winning the Over-55 Championship in 2022 (see photo). At the CRMC Dinner Dance in 2022, he was also surprised and pleased to be awarded the CRMC Clubman of the Year Trophy, recognising the help and advice he's given to so many of us over the years.

Tony will be missed by everyone who had the chance to meet him. Always there with his pair of experienced hands, not expecting, wanting or needing anything in return. I’m forever thankful for his help and advice; when it’s my turn it pass it on, I’ll be sure to credit Tony. He leaves a fantastic legacy, a genuine bloke-in-his-shed motorcycle racer.

I am so sad we've lost Tony, a true gent, a skilled engineer and a good friend. He'll be sorely missed. He's probably bashing fairings with someone else upstairs now ;(
Thanks for everything,
RIP Tony
