RIP Mark West - Funeral details confirmed

It is with immense sadness that the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club confirms the passing of Mark West, following the serious incident which occurred during Race 8 at Donington Park on 1 August 2026. 

RIP Mark West 

Following the serious accident which occurred at Donington Park on Saturday, 1 August 2026, Mark West died in hospital yesterday (13 August 2026).  
Mark received immediate medical attention at the circuit before being transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remained under specialist care. 
 
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Mark’s wife, Caroline, his family, friends and everyone who knew him during an unimaginably difficult time.

Mark was a valued part of the CRMC paddock, and his loss will be felt deeply throughout the club and the wider motorcycle racing community. 
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the medical teams, marshals, officials, circuit staff and everyone involved in caring for Mark following the incident. 
 
The Club continues to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities and, out of respect for Mark’s family and the ongoing processes, we will not comment further on the circumstances of the incident at this time. 
 
We ask that Caroline and Mark’s family are given the privacy and space they need. 
 
Rest in peace, Mark.

Funeral Details 
 
Mark's wife Caroline West has let us know Mark's funeral details and she has asked us to let CRMC members know. She would like to know how many will be attending, so to save Caroline receiving lots of calls/messages, June Morris has offered to collate numbers for her.

A celebration of Mark West's life 
will be held at St Peter's Church, Free St, Bishop's Waltham, Southampton SO32 1EE on Tuesday 15th September 2026 at 2 pm. 
No flowers or dress code. 
Donations, if desired, will benefit Hart Wildlife Rescue and South East Hants Young Farmers Club

Mark was a very dear and valued friend to Steve who has found the news of Marks passing very difficult. They have been friend for many years and had motorcycles ,racing and many other interests in common. It is with great sadness we say goodbye to such a wonderful man. RIP Mark .
