RIP Alan Oversby *Updated Funeral Details*

We are so very sorry to share the sad news that Alan Oversby lost his life in an incident whilst racing at the Pre-TT Classic Road Races today, Sunday, 24 May 2026. 

RIP Alan Oversby 

Alan has been a member of CRMC for over 20 years and has been a familiar face in the CRMC paddock for many years. He'd raced competitively at the Southern 100 Course of the Pre-TT Classic in the Isle of Man since 2005, taking his first win in 2006 and going on to win 16 races, including 2 wins earlier today (Sunday). 
We understand that Alan was killed in an accident on the second lap whilst approaching Ballakeighan, which is the first corner on the course. 
 
Alan was a tremendously experienced racer of many years who had won countless races over his successful racing career. He was a quiet, talented engineer and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. 
 
Our thoughts and condolences to Alan's wife Julie and family and friends at this sad time. 
 
The funeral is on Wednesday 17th June 2026,1.30pm at: 
Holy Trinity Parish Church 
Main Rd 
Bolton-le-Sands 
Carnforth 
LA5 8DU

I was at the Pre TT Classic this year and I watched Alan who was very much on the money and riding very well and looked like he was enjoying himself very much, not a wheel out of line so when I heard about this tragic incident it came very much as a shock. I raced against him at Snetterton in the past and he was a nice gent. Its so very sad when something like this happens but he was enjoying life and his passion right up to the very end, and hopefully his family can take something from that. RIP Alan matey..

Very sad loss. He always rode skilfully and hard but never angry or aggressive. A great quiet true sportsman who always respected his fellow competitors. He helped me with my lines at 3 Sisters in 1990 after a race where he had spent a brief part of it behind me.
