Our Vice Chairman Ben Robinson explains more

Ben talks through some of the decisions behind the selection of circuits and how he and the committee work hard to give a great selection of circuits to keep members happy!

"As Vice Chair of the CRMC, I wanted to share some insight into how we reached the decisions around the 2026 racing calendar.
Building a season isn’t as simple as booking dates. Every year, we balance circuit availability, rider experience, member feedback, and the long-term sustainability of the club. The 2026 calendar is no exception – and while we’re really pleased with what we’ve put together, I wanted to explain some of the challenges and the reasoning behind our choices.
Pre-Season Testing at Mallory Park
We did this for the first time at the start of the 2025 season and it was really popular, so we thought we'd do it all again!
Round 1 – Cadwell Park
We open at Cadwell, one of the most characterful and challenging tracks in the UK. A rider favourite that always delivers.
Round 2 – Pembrey
Our Welsh round returns early in the season. Pembrey is popular for its generous track time and relaxed paddock, helping riders find their rhythm after the opener.
Round 3 – Snetterton 200
The 200 circuit strikes a great balance between speed and technicality. It’s also an important venue geographically, ensuring fairness for members across the country.
Round 4 – Brands Hatch Indy (Centenary Year)
2026 marks 100 years since Brands Hatch first opened as a circuit – a huge milestone in British motorsport history. We’re proud to be part of that centenary, and some special events are being planned to celebrate. On track, the Indy layout always delivers close, competitive racing, and with the anniversary atmosphere, this round promises to be something truly memorable.
Round 5 – Donington Park National (Classic Festival)
The jewel in our crown. The Classic Festival is our flagship event and a showcase for everything CRMC stands for. It was vital to secure this again as the centrepiece of our season.
Round 6 – Anglesey Coastal
Anglesey offers a unique mix of technical challenges and a beautiful coastal setting. It adds vital variety to the season and is always a favourite for those who make the trip. Over the August Bank Holiday weekend too, we build on the successes from a 2025 bank holiday weekend at Trac Mon.
Round 7 – Mallory Park (Finale)
For 2026, we finish at Mallory Park – a fitting finale that mirrors the legendary Race of the Year meetings of the 1970s and 80s. Mallory’s short, punchy layout creates close battles, while the amphitheatre-style viewing brings the crowd right to the heart of the action. It promises to be a spectacular end to the season. It’s also vital to add, no Edwinas once again.

So, why not Oulton Park or Castle Combe?
Both Oulton Park and Castle Combe have given us fantastic racing in the past, but there are very real challenges with both venues. Availability, rising circuit costs, and scheduling pressures have made it increasingly difficult to secure viable dates that work for our club and members. While we’d love to include them, our priority is to put together a calendar that is sustainable, accessible, and fair to competitors.

The Importance of the Final Rounds of 2025

Our closing run of meetings at Darley Moor and Brands Hatch in 2025 will be crucial. We don’t want to lose momentum as the season heads to its climax. These rounds not only decide championships but also carry huge importance for the club. To make them the success they deserve to be, we really need all members’ support – strong entries, full grids, and a paddock buzzing with energy.

Looking ahead
The end result is a calendar that balances tradition, variety, and practicality. We know not everyone will get their perfect mix of venues, but we’ve worked hard to deliver a season that supports riders, members, and the long-term health of the CRMC.

Thank you for your continued passion and support. Let’s make 2026 a year to remember – and I look forward to seeing you all on the grid.

Thankyou to all that put so much effort into setting the calendar for 2026.
On another note I am pleased that technical have acquired a simple and effective way of engine measurement. I would add however that only a small section of CRMC were at the AGM so won’t know about this deterrent against deliberate cheating the rules! So I would ask that this be put in print for all to see in the club, otherwise they could say they were not informed therefore did not think their machines were breaking the rules.
