Continental Tyres - Using Fronts on the rear
Posted on 4th March 2025 at 13:38
Continental Tyres have re-confirmed that some of their front tyres can be used on the rear
Continental Tyres - ContiRoadAttack 3CR & 2CR
Continental Tyres first issued this statement in 2018 and it has recently been re-confirmed as correct, so we'd like to make members aware as it will increase the availability of tyres and compounds. Please note the comment about the rotation direction arrows at the bottom of their announcement.
This does not apply to other manufacturers without their specific confirmation and any front tyre fitted to a rear wheel may be refused by the Technical Control team. We welcome hearing from you if you are aware of other manufacturers who are able to confirm the same applies for their tyres - please click below to comment.
As always, if you have any queries, please get in touch with the Eligibility officer for your class of machine: John Davidson for Classics (pre-1972), Andy Pike for Post Classics (post-1972 and pre-1994) and Steve Reilly for sidecars. Please also contact our Chief Technical Control Officer Keith Miller for ACU technical regulation queries. All contact details are on the Contacts Page.
