Last week the Government roadmap to cautiously ease lockdown restrictions in England was announced, and the ACU have since set out how this will apply to Motorcycle Road Race meetings.
Whilst at this time the ACU are prepared to issue permits for events in April, there are some restrictions that would adversely affect the event.
However, should the infection numbers for Covid 19 not fall as projected, particularly after the Easter holiday, then the event could still be called off at very short notice.
In light of this prospect the CRMC have consulted with the circuit management at Castle Combe and both parties are in full agreement that there was still much uncertainty about whether the circumstances in April would allow the meeting to take place. Solutions to the uncertainty were discussed including options to move the date.
The final outcome was to postpone the April Castle Combe meeting until August when everything should be back to normal, or as normal as its going to be.
The new date will be August 21st & 22nd, three weeks after the Donington Festival meeting and two weeks before Anglesey.
The revised 2021 calendar now looks like this:
Venue Dates
Mallory Park 8th & 9th May
Pembrey 12th & 13th June
Cadwell Park 3rd & 4th July
Donington Park 31st July & 1st August
Castle Combe 21st & 22nd August
Anglesey 4th & 5th September
Croft 2nd & 3rd October
