RIP Fran Fletcher
"We were all so shocked and saddened when told that Fran Fletcher had been killed in the accident on Saturday afternoon whilst racing her Honda 350 K4. Fran also raced her Yamaha FZ600 in the CRMC Junior Production Championship and on Sunday when racing resumed, many fellow competitors had asked for a 1-minute silence before the Production Race that Fran would have raced.
So, before the race all the Production machines rode slowly round the circuit behind a course car with the marshals, the doctors, the paramedics and the ambulance crews standing beside the track, flags lowered and clapping as a mark of respect. When the course car and bikes reached the point where Fran had crashed, they stopped and cut their engines. There was complete silence across the whole circuit as we all remembered Fran. After the minute's silence, all the riders and crowd clapped, showing their respect for Fran's memory. It was very moving and respectful of Fran's memory.
After possibly the worst race weekend we have ever had, and hearing so many kind words about Fran and also how the club responded after the dreadful crash, I thought we should open this 'Book of Condolences' where people can leave their thoughts of Fran and prayers to pass on to Fran's family. I hope it might be some small comfort to them in this dreadfully sad time.
Thank you,
Mark George, CRMC Chairman"

I have only known Fran for a short time, since she took on the running of Country & Western events at Winterton, for which I and many others are extremely grateful. As the wife of an ex production bike racer and mother of a current Historic F2 car racer, my sympathies go out to her family. The dangers of racing, along with the desire for a win are present at every meeting, but above all we have to support the racers in doing what they love. Fran was doing this, God Bless her, and I will think of her on all future visits to Brands

We were out of the country when a mutual friend contacted us with the dreadful news - it's still hard to believe that we've lost a friend of more than 30 years and even harder to imagine what Dick, Laura and Meg must be going through. Wish there was something we could say other than we're thinking of you and remembering the all good times we've had with Fran over the years. You know where we are if there's anything we can do. Would have loved to see Franimal racing next year at the IOM and don't doubt that you would have been there. We've still got this year's programme with your name in it. RIP Fran - you'll always be remembered, so glad you were able to achieve what you did and so sad your time was cut short.

I still cant believe what happened at Brands Hatch, Fran was the Queen of the paddock and loved by so many. It was a pleasure to be beaten in every race by Fran for the years we raced together, it will never be the same again with not having her positive and friendly personality around the CRMC paddock. Sorry you couldn't have completed the dream of riding in the Classic TT, but im sure your riding the IOM TT course in the clouds now. Ride in peace Franimal. My thoughts go out to Dick & Family.

What a lovely lady and such a sad loss. I met Fran for the first time in the IOM in 2013 when we both completed the VMCC parade lap, she loved her bikes and always seemed to have a smile on her face. RIP

We are fairly new to CRMC and at Anglesey we were in the next garage to Fran. Based on the number of people popping by we could tell how popular Fran was. She always had a smile and time for a chat and she will be very much missed around the paddock. Our thought go out to all of Fran's family and friends at this very sad time.
