Once again, we are looking forward to The Classic Motorcycle Festival at Donington Park for one of Europe’s biggest celebrations of motorcycling through the decades.
The focus on track is the CRMC's recreation of motorbike racing from the 60s, 70s and 80s, with hundreds of classic race bikes competing in 40 races in a packed schedule.
A diverse range of solos and sidecars will race in prestigious classic racing championships, including the FIM European Vintage Road Race Championships, ACU National Championships, the Wheatcroft Trophy Race powered by Classic Racer and the Lansdowne Classic Series. The full event schedule will be published soon.
There are always a number of star guests at the festival, and 2019 should be no different, with fan’s favourite Steve Parrish already confirmed. Watch (and hear!) some of the rarest and exotic motorcycles in parades, demos and huge display areas featuring support from the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club. There is an open paddock to ensure all visitors can get up close to some of the most spectacular racing bikes ever!
Old Spice Ducati 916
Terry Rymer rode the Old Spice Ducati 916 in the 1996 B.S.B season for Team Moto Cinelli.
He arrived at the Thruxton round on the Sunday morning without any practice at all due to an Endurance race the day before in France. He had to start the first race from the back of the grid and after a terrific battle Terry managed to take the lead on the final lap and complete an amazing victory. His teammate that season was a youngster called Chris Walker.

2006 Factory Ducati GP6
This Ducati is Sete Gibernau’s 2006 factory GP6 990 on which he secured pole position at the Italian Grand Prix and finished fifth in the race. The 2006 GP6 990’s were the last of the line first seen in 2002. In 2007 the capacity for MotoGP was reduced to 800 cc to reduce the speeds and risk.
