"It is with regret that we have to announce the sad death of Rob Gourlay, who has been killed in an accident on his road bike close to his home. We are informed that Rob was in collision with another vehicle the driver of which has been remanded in custody under the suspicion of drunk driving.
Our condolences go out to Rob's family and friends; he will be sadly missed by all who knew him."
ANGLESEY APRIL 25-26-27.
Due to a potential shortage of marshals particularly on the Friday it has been decided to use the 1.55 mile Coastal Circuit instead of the 2.1 mile long circuit.
This will also have the following benefits:
Many who have ridden there consider the coastal circuit to be better as it includes the ÒcorkscrewÓ corner which is the best corner at Anglesey.
By requiring fewer marshals it should ensure we start the free practice day on time.
Best use of marshals must make for a safer meeting.
As this will be our first time at the new Anglesey the coastal circuit will be easier to manage and produce a better race programme.
If anyone has a query on this point please contact Roger Bryant Ð 01522-789359 or John Davidson Ð 01142-873885.
For the attention of CRMC Paraders
As part of the Anglesey meeting the club is providing a free competitors practice day on the Friday for familiarisation of the new circuit.
If at least 10 parade riders are signed on etc on the Friday, we will run a parade in the afternoon.
2008 Cadwell Park entry forms
There has been a printing error with the 2008 entry packs, resulting in two entry forms for Donington Park and none for Cadwell Park. Click on the link to download your missing Cadwell Park entry form from the website. Copies of the form are also available by e-mail and post from John Davidson, from the Race Office at Pembrey, Anglesey, Lydden and Donington, and will be included in the Open Megga edition 2 for anyone still requiring a copy. Members who have already sent in their Cadwell entry using the spare Donington Park entry form, need take no further action.
The CRMC has introduced an additional championship to cater for 350cc singles, group 2 classic racers which now mirror the 500cc class championships. While these bikes will probably still be out on the track with the 350cc Group One bikes they will now be racing for a separate championship. Previously sponsored by Molnar Engineering, both these classes will be supported in 2008 by a new sponsor -Lacey Engineering whose principal business is Ducati race preparation and the supply of parts for Ducati singles from 1965-75.
