As far as possible, eligibility rules try to re-create race classes from a bygone era, split into the following categories. Solo machines will be either Classic era (4-strokes up to 1972, or 2-strokes up to 1967) or Post Classic era (4-strokes 1973 to 1986, or 2-strokes 1968 to 1986).
